Data Wiping & Hard Drive Destruction in Kansas City

Protect your customers, patients and employees with documented data destruction. We wipe drives to NIST 800-88 standards or physically destroy them on request, and you get a certificate for every job.

Destruction methods

The right method for every device and policy

Preserves value

Certified data wiping

Software-based sanitization verified to NIST 800-88 (and DoD 5220.22-M when requested). Best for laptops, desktops and servers that will be reused or resold, and it keeps buyback value intact.

Irreversible

Physical destruction

Hard drives, SSDs and other data-bearing devices are physically destroyed so the data cannot be recovered. Available on request: drives are dismantled and destroyed in-house or sent to our R2v3-certified downstream partner. Best for failed drives, highly sensitive data or strict internal policies.

Bulk

Non-serialized media

Loose hard drives, flash drives, memory cards, CDs/DVDs, backup tapes and unidentified storage devices, destroyed in bulk with a certificate of destruction.

Documentation

Proof you can hand to an auditor

Disposal isn't finished until it's documented. Every job comes with records you can file and produce on request.

  • Certificate of Data Destruction: your company, date and method used
  • Serial-number reporting: each drive listed individually on serialized jobs
  • Asset tracking: device make, model and serial logged at our facility
  • Chain of custody: equipment goes directly from your site to our facility

Chain of custody, step by step

Data destruction FAQ

Common questions

Should I wipe or physically destroy my hard drives?

Wiping to NIST 800-88 standards is ideal when the device will be reused or resold, because it preserves value. Physical destruction is best for failed drives, highly sensitive data, or when your policy requires physical destruction.

Are SSDs destroyed differently from hard drives?

Yes. Degaussing does not work on solid-state drives. SSDs store data differently, so we use NIST 800-88 methods suited to the drive type, or physical destruction when you request it.

What is on a Certificate of Data Destruction?

The certificate identifies your organization, the date, the destruction method and, for serialized jobs, each drive's serial number, giving you a defensible record for audits.

Do you destroy data on copiers and printers?

Yes. Many multifunction printers and copiers contain hard drives that store scanned documents. We remove and destroy those drives as part of disposal.

Need drives destroyed?

From a box of loose hard drives to a full server room, we'll quote it and handle it, and you'll get the certificate to prove it.
